The Stolen Sword

2024

‘The Stolen Sword’ is a Stage-Play created by 18 children in their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th year of Primary School.

When the Emperor and Empress are informed that the Kitsune No Ken (the Fox’s Sword) which holds the power to the kingdom has gone missing, a team of Heroes embark on an adventure to recover it. On their adventure the four Heroes meet a forest creature (Totoro), a fire-mage (Sora), a yeti, ghosts and many more fantasy creatures. But who is behind the theft of the Kitsune No Ken? How will swordsman Hikaru, adventurer Jin, dwarf-warrior Goro and the fox Kistune manage to get it back and restore magic and power to the lands?

An original Stage-Play inspired by Japanese manga, anime, video games and fairytales, ‘The Stolen Sword’ was written over the course of the 2023/24 academic year by a group of 18 non-native English IDEO students aged 7-11. It included moral messages related to bravery, friendship and helping others in need.
