Through the TV

2018

‘Through the TV’ is a Stage-Play created by 20 children in their 6th year of Primary School.

In the school playground Bianca invites her friend Max to her grandparents’ house to play. But inviting just one person isn’t as easy as it seems, and little does she know that Josh, Annabelle, Tom and Sandra will be coming over too. When the children are fighting over the TV remote, something strange happens and suddenly, they are transported through the television to 3 different TV shows: Masterchef, a Nature Documentary, and the popular Spanish comedy talk show, El Hormiguero. To make matters worse, they travel in pairs but their partner is far from their best friend. Despite their different personality types, each pair of students must work together if they are to solve the challenges that await them inside their favourite TV shows…

An original Stage-Play exploring comedy and science-fiction, ‘Through the TV’ was written over the course of the 2017/18 academic year by a class of 20 non-native English students aged 11-12. It included songs, dances and moral messages related to friendship, teamwork and accepting that we are all different and unique.
