In Search of a New Earth

2019

‘In Search of a New Earth’ is a Stage-Play created by 80 children in their 4th year of Primary School.

As Earth explodes before our very eyes, the High Council discuss issues and problems with planets and the galaxy. They explain that Earth had many problems, mainly due to human activity, so just before the explosion they send 5 research teams in rockets to different planets. Their mission objective? To learn valuable lessons to help them build a “New Earth”, one filled with love, happiness and respect. On Planet Recursa they learn about gratitude and that we shouldn’t be wasteful with our resources. On the war-torn Planet Titan they learn that violence is never the answer. On Planet Divido the Researchers understand the division between the rich and the poor, and learn that money and possessions do not guarantee happiness. On Technoplanet they learn that technology must be treated with respect, and finally on Planet Xen they deal with issues of Xenophobia and learn the valuable lesson that sharing is caring.

An original science-fiction Stage-Play packed with morals and life lessons, ‘In Search of a New Earth’ was written over the course of the 2018/19 academic year by a whole year group in the 4th of Primary. It included a cast of 80 non-native English speaking children aged 9-10. It included songs, dances and moral messages related to respect, peace, love and kindness.
